The Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA)
The Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa is a statutory health body established in terms of the Allied Health Professions Act, 63 of 1982 (the Act) in order to control all allied health professions, which includes Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy, Osteopathy, Phytotherapy, Therapeutic Aromatherapy, Therapeutic Massage Therapy, Therapeutic Reflexology and Unani-Tibb.
Council on Higher Education (CHE)
The South African Council on Higher Education is an independent statutory body responsible for advising the Minister of Higher Education and Training on all higher education policy issues, and for quality assurance in higher education and training.
South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA)
The South African Qualifications Authority is a juristic person – that is an entity given a legal personality by the law. The South African Qualifications Authority Board is a body of 12 members appointed by the Ministers of Education after consultation with the Minister of Labour.
The South African Reflexology Society (TSARS)
Founded in 1985, TSARS has been instrumental in gaining statutory recognition for Therapeutic Reflexology from the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa. As a national professional society, TSARS registered in 2007 as a non-profit making organisation, and as an independent entity TSARS acts in the interest of its members and on professional matters relating to Reflexology.
