Where can I find more information about the Diploma in Therapeutic Reflexology and/or the courses offered?

How long will it take to complete each course and/or the full Diploma in Therapeutic Reflexology?
Each course is accredited with a number of credits based on the amount of notional hours a student should engage in order to achieve competence in the knowledge and skills expected of them. One credit equates to ten notional hours of learning. Our courses range from 6 to 40 credits and time required to complete each course is directly dependent on the number of credits accredited to the course. The full Diploma in Therapeutic Reflexology is accredited with 240 credits in total and takes 2 years (2,400 notional hours) to complete provided that the student completes all required courses in succession. How much do the courses cost?

Are the courses/Diploma internationally recognised?
We are proud to state that the IARAMT’s Diploma in Therapeutic Reflexology is the highest qualification available in the world to date. South Africa is the only country in the world that requires Therapeutic Reflexology to be registered under both the Health and Educational Minister.
Each country differs in their requirements of what is entailed in a Therapeutic Reflexology qualification and this is unfortunately beyond our control. We have had students who have studied and gone on to legally practice Therapeutic Reflexology in other countries where they have surpassed the requirements of that particular country. If you are interested in practicing Reflexology abroad, we suggest to contact the education board of the country and gather the necessary requirements directly from them.
Do we offer exemptions for “recognised prior learning”?
Yes, we do offer students who have existing and suitable qualifications in Anatomy and Physiology, or Pathology and Patho-physiology exemption from these subjects. The RPL qualification cannot be older than 5 years or a proof of updates must be given. See Course Information sub-section or the Prospectus for more information.
What can I do once I have qualified?
Once you have obtained your Diploma in Therapeutic Reflexology, you are legally qualified to practice Therapeutic Reflexology*.
*Please note that in order to legally practice Therapeutic Reflexology you have to obtain a 240 credits diploma, level 5 in Higher Education (tertiary). This qualification has to be obtained from an institution that is registered with the Department of Education, as well as Higher Education. Furthermore, the institute has to be accredited with the Allied Health Professions Council.
Where does IARAMT have their campuses?

What courses are offered via Distance E-Learning and how does it work?
Courses are delivered using inter-active multimedia CD-ROMS and web board communication. Distance E-learners receive the same textbook, handbooks and working books as face-to-face learners, however instead of attending class, they must work through the activities and assessment tools on each CD-ROM. They must also attend one compulsory workshop per module to hand in assignments and complete the exams. The structure of the programme is identical to the face-to-face class-mode.
What is Vacuflex Concepts and how does it work?
Vacuflex Concepts combines a vacuum boot therapy together with a vacuum cup treatment of the acupuncture meridians, giving you the combined benefit of a full reflexology treatment plus the stimulation of all the major meridians. The client feels a pleasurable firm pressure over the feet, ankles and calves as a vacuum pump removes the air from the plastic bags, creating a vacuum and causing the specially constructed felt boots to apply a gradual and carefully controlled pressure that can be monitored on the gauge. The next stage of the treatment involves stimulating acupuncture points along the using suction pads.

What is Magnetic Healing and how does it work?
Magnetic Healing uses electro-magnets to help restore depleted magnetic energy levels and stimulates the biochemistry in the body to maintain good health.
Magnetic energy penetrates the skin and is absorbed in the blood flowing in the capillaries which carry the magnetic energy to all the various parts of the body. The stimulation supplied by the magnetic energy causes the blood vessels to expand, blood circulation is enhanced and the flow of nutrition (food & oxygen) to all body cells and the elimination of toxins is improved. The pH levels of the blood, cells, tissues and hence organs are restored. This balanced environment optimises the functioning of all body organs allowing the body to heal itself.
